Speed limits in St Clement will drop to 30mph

Speed limits will be cut in St Clement in an attempt to make the roads in parish safer.

Almost all of the 40mph speed limits will be cut to 30mph.

The Constable of St Clement asked the transport minister to change the speed limits in the parish in order to improve road safety.

He said lowering the limit from 40 to 30mph could make the country lanes and coast roads in particular safer for pedestrians and cyclists.

There have been 21 roads identified for the new 30mph limit.

Constable Mike Jackson, transport and technical services minister, also received requests to lower the speed limits from parishioners.

He said he hoped the new limits, would be in place from 12 November and would be supported by many residents.
