Jersey Airport reopens after snow and ice closure

Jersey Airport has reopened following an overnight closure because of heavy snow and ice.

The airport was closed on Saturday night with many flights cancelled, but reopened at 1115 GMT on Sunday.

The first flight landed on the island at 1320 GMT, with the first one departing at 1439 GMT.

On its website the airport states "some disruption to scheduled flight services is anticipated" and advised passengers to check-in as normal.

Flights were also delayed on Saturday after a lightning strike affected radar equipment.
