Businesses in Jersey will get CRB check access
Employers will be able to get direct access to the UK database that checks whether people are safe to work with children and other vulnerable groups.
The Jersey Vetting Bureau will be launched at the end of March and will be able to receive and process Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) checks.
There will be no charge for anyone working for a volunteer group.
The CRB is used to make sure vulnerable adults and children, and those working with them, are safe.
More employers and voluntary groups will also have to register their staff with the bureau.
But when the Jersey link is running, it will be easier for local employers and charities to do so.
Charges for using the service are being reviewed in the UK.
