States of Jersey Police has released a CCTV image of a man they want to trace in connection with an assault.

Officers want to speak to the man about an attack in Chambers nightclub in St Helier shortly after midnight on 5 February.

Det Insp Chris Beechey said a 20-year-old man was struck on the head by another man with a beer bottle.

He was also kicked while on the ground and received injuries needing hospital treatment.

Police originally appealed for information last month and arrested a 31-year-old man, who was later released pending further inquiries

Det Insp Chris Beechey said: "We are grateful for the response that we have received so far, however are requesting once again that the public take another look at the photograph to see if they can identify him to us."

The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, of a medium build, with short straight black hair, clean shaven wearing a jacket with a dark collar.

Police said he may have a Liverpool accent.
