A man's body is found near the New North Quay

The body of a man has been found in the sea in Jersey, near the New North Quay at the harbour in St Helier.

The coastguard found the body at about 0730 GMT and the States of Jersey Police and Fire and Rescue Service recovered it.

The police said they have not yet formally identified the man and although his death was unexplained it was not being treated as suspicious.
