Jersey beer sales to fund charity

A charity based in Jersey which offers holidays to injured service personnel will benefit from beer sold at the island's annual Liberation celebrations.

A 10p donation from every pint of Liberation Ale sold since Friday, and until the event ends on Monday, will go to Holidays4Heroes.

Events are held every year to mark the end German occupation in World War II.

It is the third year the charity has benefited in this way.

Holidays4Heroes said previous donations have funded 218 holidays this year.

Twenty-seven injured service personnel and their families are currently spending a week on holiday in the island.
