Jersey harbour modernisation call by Steve Luce

A leading member of the Chamber of Commerce is calling on the States to modernise Jersey's harbour.

Steve Luce, chairman of the Emerging Industries Committee, wants to see all commercial activities at the harbour moved to La Collette to allow an expansion of marina business.

Better commercial facilities will also result in more competition for freight and passengers, he believes.

He says it would mean lower prices for consumers, travellers and importers.
