Sales and markets

The Jersey Farm and Craft Market takes place St Brelade's Parish Hall in St Aubin on Saturday 23 July from 10:00 - 13:30 BST.

See the best in local produce at a number of organic stalls, including locally made arts and crafts and musical entertainment. (Free entry)

  • St Aubin on the Hill Church has a "Summer Silent Auction" in St Brelade's Parish Hall as part of the Farm and Craft Market on Saturday, starting with viewing at 09:30 BST and final bids at 12:15 BST in aid of their retaining wall. There will also be a book stall and a nearly new clothes stall. (Free entry)
  • There is a car boot sale at Corbiere on Saturday 23 July from 09:00 - 14:00 BST.
  • A Saturday Market is on at the St Peters Community Centre on Saturday from 09:00 - 15:00 BST.
  • St Brelade Social Club is holding an outdoor car boot sale from 08:30 - 13:00 BST on Sunday 24 July and every Sunday morning until the end of August.
  • And St John Football Club is holding a car boot sale at St John Recreation Centre on Sunday 24 July from 12:00 - 16:00 BST, with set up from 11:45 BST.


Seasick Steve, Arrested Development and Josh Flowers are amongst the performers at the Grassroots festival 2011.

The eco music festival is at Val de la Mare on Saturday 23 July. Doors open 12:00 BST.

Arts and Culture

Cinema Live presents one of André Rieu's annual concert series from his hometown of Maastricht, in The Netherlands.

It will be screened to people around the world including the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada and Russia.

The renowned Dutch violinist and conductor is one of the world's most successful touring artists.

It will be shown at the Jersey Opera House on Friday 29 July at 19:30 BST. (Tickets from £15)

  • Providence Street is a collection of photographs by Tom Killick on display at the Jersey Arts Centre until Saturday 30 July.


The Samares Musical Soiree will take place at Samares Manor on Friday 22 July from 18:30 BST.

There will be a variety of musical entertainment by local musicians.

It is in aid of the Brooke Hospital for Animals. (Tickets: Adults - £7, under 12s - £3.50)

  • You can stay in a haunted castle and raise money for charity in the Ghost Hunt Weekend at Elizabeth Castle on Friday 22 and at Mont Orgueil on Saturday 23 July. Money raised goes to the Anthony Nolan Trust. (£20 entry plus sponsorship)
  • Every Thursday until 25 August, there is a Jersey Farm and Craft market selling local produce, arts, crafts and food in St Helier's Weighbridge Place. From 10:00 to 18:00 BST. (Free of charge)
  • Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust is opening its wildlife park at dusk every Friday from 1 July to 2 September. Visitors can see the parkland and animals after 16:30 BST for half the normal admission price.
