Jersey pubs to open early for Rugby World Cup

Pubs will be allowed to open early in the morning in Jersey during some of the Rugby World Cup matches.

The championship, which is taking place in New Zealand, gets under way in September.

Licensees will have to apply to the Bailiff for a special permit to open early in the morning for home nation matches.

But to qualify licensees will have to ensure anybody using the venue will be able to watch the match.

The instructions from the Bailiff's Chambers state matches would have to be enjoyed collectively as a shared experience.
