Jersey schools meet worship requirements

Schools in Jersey are meeting their requirements for children to have one act of worship a week, according to the States.

It follows a BBC survey which found 6 out of 10 parents did not believe UK schools were carrying out a daily act of worship as required by law.

In Jersey schools should offer one act of worship a week of a broadly Christian nature.

The Department of Education, Sport and Culture said it was regularly reviewed.

The department said it worked closely with head teachers and a multi-faith advisory group, the Religious Education Advisory Council.
