Quick-thinking alert praised after Jersey house fire

Jersey's fire service has praised a quick-thinking neighbour who alerted it to a house fire.

Crews were called to the property in Le Geyt Street just before midnight on Sunday.

The neighbour noticed the fire through a ground floor window. No-one was inside the property at the time.

The fire was brought under control but the damage could have been worse had it not been noticed, the fire service said.
