Jersey charities benefit from the Royal Wedding appeal
Islanders have raised £15,286 for the Royal Wedding Jersey Charity Appeal.
Three local charities - Holidays for Heroes Jersey, Brighter Futures and the Jersey Association of Carers - will benefit from the appeal.
The Bailiff, Michael Birt, set up the appeal for people to leave donations in lieu of a wedding gift for Prince William and Kate Middleton.
He acknowledged the generosity of the public in supporting the appeal which marked a "special royal occasion".
He said the money would be shared equally between the three charities.
The Council of Ministers started the appeal in April with a £6,000 donation on behalf of the States of Jersey.
