Speakers' Corner for election candidates in Jersey
Election candidates will be able to share their views with islanders in Jersey's town centre.
There is a Speakers' Corner for candidates to use just off King Street near the old Bistro Central in Don Street in St Helier.
Richard MacKenzie, town centre manager, said it was one of the busiest areas of the island, with 30,000 people visiting the main shopping precinct each day.
He said all candidates would be able to make a speech there.
He added he hoped it would assist the democratic process of the elections and help islanders to make an informed decision when they go to the polls.
The area was being opened by the Constable of St Helier at 13:00 BST on Wednesday.
It will be there until election day on 19 October.
