Lieutenant Governor hoping to study States of Jersey

Jersey's new Lieutenant Governor has said he hopes to spend a lot of time while in office listening to debates in the States of Jersey.

Gen Sir John McColl was officially sworn into office on Monday.

Traditionally the Lieutenant Governor only speaks in the States when they are sworn in and when they leave five years later.

Sir John said he wanted to understand more about the way government worked and how it could develop in future.
