Police release two men arrested in drugs investigation
The two men arrested in Jersey on suspicion of plotting to bring in illegal drugs have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
A UK resident remains in custody in the Coutances region of France after police seized a "commercial amount" of drugs.
Jersey Police worked with their French counterparts in the operation and cannabis resin with a potential street value in Jersey of £540,000 was seized.
The States of Jersey police believe the drugs were destined for the island.
The police say they are now working with law enforcement agencies in France, Spain and the UK.
Det Insp Gary Pashley said: "This sizable seizure of cannabis will undoubtedly impact on the current availability of the drug within the island.
"And it underlines the determination of the States of Jersey police and associated agencies to severely hamper the efforts of those intent on profiting from this illicit and sinister trade."
