Book sale raises £22,250 for Jersey charity

A book sale in Jersey has so far raised £22,250 for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Organisers of the Biggest Book Sale said money was still coming in and they were confident the total raised would reach £22,500.

Ken Syvret, chairman of the Jersey branch of Guide Dogs for the Blind, said he was delighted at the event's "tremendous success".

The event has generated more than £275,000 for the charity since the first book sale in 1994.

Mr Syvret added: "In these difficult times the result is outstanding."
