Jersey's senatorial candidates have given their final hustings speeches of the 2011 campaign.

About 400 people filled a conference room at the Radisson hotel in St Helier to hear candidates speak and quiz them on a range of issues.

The meeting, chaired by St Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft, saw each of the 13 candidates speak for four minutes and answer three questions.

Polls in each of the parishes open in Jersey on Wednesday at 08:00 BST.

The candidates answered questions on an underground car park, education in the island and the poor quality housing in Jersey.

Highlights of the St Helier hustings will be broadcast on BBC Radio Jersey (88.8fm) between 18:00 and 20:00 BST.
