A man was injured when a digger fell off a lorry on to a van in St Mary.

Police were called at 07:00 GMT to an industrial accident near Mourier Valley.

They said the Caterpillar digger tipped off the back of a low loader and crushed the van it landed on in Le Mont de la Barcelone road.

Jersey Police said one man was taken to the General Hospital, but said his injuries were not thought to be serious.

Police officers attended the scene, with representatives from Social Security and Driver and Vehicle Standards, which investigate accidents at work.

Le Mont de la Barcelone was closed while officers investigated.
