Man remanded after Jersey shop raid

A 29-year-old man from Madeira has been remanded on bail in connection with a break in at a Jersey shop.

Paulo Moniz is accused of taking about 480 rings worth £15,000 from the Owl and Pussycat shop in St Helier, in the early hours of Boxing Day.

He has been told to appear again before Jersey Magistrates' Court on 18 January.

Mr Moniz has also been told to surrender his passport and has been put under curfew.
