Pottery ends production in Jersey

Jersey Pottery in Gorey closed its doors for the last time on Sunday.

The site of the workshop and restaurant which started as a small tourism attraction in 1946 is being sold to the development company Dandara.

The pottery blamed a fall in visitors for the closure. The company is moving all pottery production to the UK, but its retail and catering outlets will remain in Jersey.

Plans for 52 homes on the site have been submitted to planners.
