Jersey's Hotel des Pierres will be demolished

Ten new flats will be built at the site of a former hotel at Greve de Lecq in Jersey, despite objections from neighbours.

The island's planning authorities have agreed to plans to knock down the Hotel des Pierres in St Ouen.

People living nearby complained that the development would invade their privacy.

The proposal was scaled down from 13 flats because it was refused planning permission.

The development is in the new Coastal National Park, which is an area set aside to protect the environment.
