Jersey Airport staff work late to clear backlog

Jersey Airport workers stayed until 22:30 GMT on Saturday to help clear a backlog of flights caused by fog.

Up to 10,000 passengers' flights to and from Jersey Airport have been disrupted for three days.

The airport normally closes at 21:00 GMT in the winter, but staff agreed to stay on and the airport waived the £600 a flight charge to airlines that it usually makes after that time.

Flights to Guernsey, London Gatwick and Southampton were among those affected.
