Teenagers to question Jersey ministers on benefits system

Jersey teenagers will be debating island issues in a special States sitting on Wednesday.

The Jersey Youth Assembly started 14 years ago.

It allows year 12 and 13 students from Jersey's post-16 schools to go into the States Chamber to question ministers and debate topics they have chosen.

The students will be discussing subjects including Jersey being a smoke-free island and making the local benefits system stricter.

It starts at 13:30 GMT and you can follow the proceedings live on BBC Radio Jersey's 1026 MW frequency.
