Jersey's Charles Woodrow receives honour at palace

The chief of staff at Jersey's Government House has received his honour at Buckingham Palace.

Lieutenant Colonel Charles Woodrow was made a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order for his services to the Crown.

He was recognised for his time as chief of staff and private secretary to Jersey's Lieutenant Governor.

Annette Langley, a former Jersey nurse, was also at Buckingham Palace to receive an MBE.

She was named in the New Year Honours list for her work with Family Nursing and Home Care.

She worked as a nurse for nearly 50 years, 30 of those in Jersey.
