Jersey Post 'better value than UK', says boss Kevin Keen

The cost of posting a letter in Jersey is still better value than in the UK, according to the Chief Executive of Jersey Post.

Kevin Keen said despite an increase of five pence to send a letter to the UK, it was still cheaper than Royal Mail in England.

Jersey Post is increasing prices and a local letter will now cost 45p and UK mail 55p.

The charges also include an 11p rise for post to Europe, from 49p to 60p.

Mr Keen said the service had no choice but to increase the price of a stamp.

He said: "Royal Mail have put their prices up dramatically in the UK and we are feeling the pain of that increase."
