St Mark's Church ground becomes allotments

A Jersey church has turned a patch of waste ground on one side of the building into allotments.

The allotments for local people have been made along the southern side of St Mark's Church.

Large wooden planters, drainage and watering facilities have been installed and the first crops of strawberries and potatoes are already growing.

The allotments will be officially opened by the Dean of Jersey, the Very Reverend Robert Key, on Sunday.
