Jersey man jailed for child pornography images

A Jersey man who downloaded more than 5,000 indecent images of children has been jailed for three-and-a-half years.

Mark Young, 52, from St Clement, faced six charges of making indecent material and one count of attempting to make it between April 2007 and September 2012.

He was found guilty at the Royal Court of Jersey.

Sentencing him, the Bailiff Sir Michael Birt said most of the images were at the more serious levels of indecency.

Jersey's Royal Court heard 26 computers were seized from Young's home after his arrest in September 2012.

Seven were found to contain indecent images and videos of children.
