Sophie Martin becomes Jersey youth ambassador

A youth ambassador has been appointed to represent the interests of young people in Jersey.

Highlands College student, Sophie Martin, 17, beat two other nominees for the position at a youth awards run by the Jersey Youth Service.

She will hold the position for a year and will speak at schools, training events and conferences.

Miss Martin will work with the Jersey Youth Service and promote the work it does.

She said: "I would like to go into the schools and explain what youth work is about."
