Jersey parking to increase from February

The cost of parking in Jersey is to go up by 1p per unit from 1 February, the transport department confirmed.

The single unit paycard will rise from the current price of 73p to the new price of 74p.

Transport Minister Deputy Kevin Lewis said money from parking paid for the repair and maintenance of car parks.

He said: "An annual inflation linked increase is needed to ensure there's enough money to keep our car parks up to a reasonable standard."
