Two charged in Jersey over Bel Royal park attack

A man and a woman have been charged in connection with an assault which saw armed police search a children's park.

Millbrook park in Jersey was evacuated on Monday afternoon after emergency services were called to Bel Royal.

A 31-year-old man suffered a serious injury in the attack.

Kaysha Le Masurier, 22, from St Helier, is charged with perverting the course of justice and Kamal Hussain, 37, from Bangladesh, is charged with grave and criminal assault.

Both had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The injured man, who was assaulted in the car park area of the burger kiosk, was taken to hospital with a serious neck injury, but was released on Tuesday.

Ms Masurier and Mr Hussain will appear before magistrates on Wednesday.
