Jersey First World War memorial approved
A memorial to First World War Soldiers designed by a Jersey artist has been given planning approval.
It will be the first permanent memorial to the 603 St Helier residents who lost their lives during the conflict.
Earlier this year the Parish of St Helier held a competition to find a design for the £250,000 memorial.
The final design, by Siobhann Macleod will see two sloping wedges displaying the names of the fallen war heroes from St Helier.
It will be built opposite the Cenotaph on the site of the former Jersey Electricity substation.
