Hundreds of Inca tombs discovered in Peru

Help

Archaeologists in Peru have started registering 370 Inca tombs located just over two miles above sea level in the Andes mountains.

Some of the tombs found in the South of Peru still have the remains of the deceased located inside baskets made of woven ropes.

Experts believe the site could yield more tombs and artifacts. However, the terrain is difficult to explore.

Experts have dated the site between 1400 and 1500 AD.
