17 November 2013 Last updated at 05:37 GMT

Chile holds a presidential election on Sunday, with the Socialist candidate, Michelle Bachelet, the overwhelming favourite to win.

She already made history when she served as the country's first female president between 2006 and 2010.

Now she is looking to become the first Chilean leader in over half a century to serve a second term in office.

Gideon Long reports from Santiago.
