Mexican legends set up mariachi school for youngsters

30 November 2013 Last updated at 04:01 GMT

The original line-up of Mexico's mariachi ensemble Vargas de Tecalitlan was formed in 1897.

Their current members are now trying to pass on their skills to the next generation of musicians.

They have opened a mariachi school in Mexico City entirely devoted to teaching youngsters how to play the traditional Mexican folk music.

Bruno Garcez reports.
