Mexican MP strips off in protest at energy decision

13 December 2013 Last updated at 13:51 GMT

A Mexican MP has stripped off in Congress to protest against controversial legislation that opens the state-controlled oil sector to foreign investment.

Antonio Garcia Conejo, from the PRD, stripped down to his underwear to show his opposition to he bill.

The new energy law allows private oil and gas companies to drill for oil and gas with the state-run firm Pemex in exchange for a share of the profits.

It has been approved by the Chamber of Deputies a day after being passed by the upper house, the Senate.

Aaron Heslehurst reports.
