The vice-president of Guatemala, Roxana Baldetti, has had a substance - believed to be flour - thrown in her face during an official government ceremony.

The attacker said she was protesting against the government's record in tackling violence and corruption, but local authorities claim the action was organised by opposition activists.

Bruno Garcez reports.
