Murder rate rising in El Salvador

For years, El Salvador had the highest murder rate in the world.

In 2011, jailed gang leaders in the Central American country agreed a ceasefire. The murder rate dropped by almost half within a year.

The second anniversary of the truce is approaching and the murder rate is rising again.
