Egypt unrest: 'It feels like a new Tahrir Square'

Help

Thousands of demonstrators have taken to the streets of the Egyptian capital Cairo for rival rallies as emotions run high ahead of a planned referendum.

The opposition breached a barrier outside the presidential palace and continued their protest into the night.

The BBC's Shaimaa Khalil visited the scene and said it felt like "a new Tahrir Square".
