Ultra-Orthodox Jews protest at forced military service plan

Help

Tens of thousands of ultra-Orthodox Jews have protested in Jerusalem against plans to force them to do military service.

They are usually exempted on religious grounds but the new Israeli ruling coalition is seeking to change that.

Most Israeli men and women complete military service of up to three years when they turn 18.
