Syria conflict: UN urges aid for displaced millions

The UN's biggest ever appeal for aid has launched, with the aim of helping the nearly three-quarters of the Syrian population it says will need aid in 2014.

More than two million Syrians have fled to neighbouring Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and Iraq - and more than half of those refugees are children.
