The lawyer of a US man jailed in the United Arab Emirates over a parody video says he was "made an example" of.

Shezanne Cassim, 29, was held for nine months in a Dubai prison for his video satirising the city's youth culture.

He has now been released and returned to his home state of Minnesota.

Cassim's lawyer, Susan Burns, told BBC Radio 5 live's Up All Night: "It does send a message to be careful... I would not advise my clients to go there."
