Clashes go on as Israel holds funerals for the dead

Israel's defence minister says that the offensive in Gaza will continue 'as long as necessary to stop the Hamas rocket attacks.

Israel's air defence system called Iron Dome has protected many Israeli civilians but two people have died as a result of rockets.

The Israeli military has also intercepted Hamas fighters trying to enter Israel using underground tunnels.

The BBC's John Simpson sent this report from Sderot on Israel's border with Gaza.
