Why is Middle East truce so hard to broker?

High level diplomatic talks are taking place to try to end the violence between Israel and the Palestinians but so far with no breakthrough.

On Tuesday many airlines including all American carriers have stopped flying to and from Ben Gurion after a rocket exploded by the airport.

The BBC's Frank Gardner reports on the complexities of reaching a deal.
