Iraqi forces 'break siege' of Amerli

Iraqi forces have reached the besieged town of Amerli in northern Iraq, where thousands have been trapped by jihadists, military officials say.

Government forces were backed by American air strikes as they fought to relieve the town, which is just over a hundred miles north of Baghdad
