Five militants killed 'in bungled Pakistan attack'

At least five militants have been killed trying to enter an army training ground in north-west Pakistan, officials say.

They say guards opened fire when the men did not stop at a check point.

Two militants were killed in the shooting while three others died when they detonated their suicide vests, officials say.

Four soldiers were injured. The attack happened in the city of Mardan, about 50km (30 miles) north east of Peshawar.
