Pakistan: Kashmir bus crash kills children

At least 12 children have been killed after their school bus plunged into a canal in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, police said.

Rescue workers are looking for two children and the bus driver who have been missing since Friday's incident in Ali Beg town.

The police said the driver had been speeding and lost control.

Road accidents are common in Pakistan. Roads are poorly maintained and buses are often in a poor condition.

"The bus had picked up children, all below the age of 15, from Ali Beg town to drop them at different schools," senior local police official Chaudhry Munir Hussain told AFP news agency.

Two of the children have been admitted to hospital.
