Arizona communities 'extremely vulnerable' to wildfires

2 July 2013 Last updated at 10:41 BST

A wildfire in Arizona which killed 19 firefighters remains a danger to the area as high temperatures continue.

Emergency Response Officer Karan Takai told the BBC's David Shukman that the local communities were "extremely vulnerable" as long as the combustible conditions remain.

The 19 firefighters were killed on Sunday battling the ferocious blaze about 80 miles (130km) north-west of Phoenix.
