Mugger says sorry to victim on Facebook - 35 years later

3 December 2013 Last updated at 16:05 GMT

A mugger has apologised to the man he stole from - three and a half decades after the incident.

Michael Goodman stole Claude Soffel's bus pass in New York 35 years ago.

But after recognising his name on Facebook, Mr Goodman was prompted to apologise to Mr Soffel for his actions.

Mr Soffel, now a life-coach, told BBC Radio 5 live's Up All Night: "He could have turned away - and he didn't."
