A lifelike sculpture of a semi-nude man walking in snow has drawn a mixed reaction from students at a prestigious women's college in Massachusetts.

The artwork by Tony Matelli - entitled Sleepwalker - is designed to trigger "unexpected new ideas", according to Wellesley College's president.

Nearly 300 people have signed a petition to have the statue removed.
