US mid-terms 2014: Results
The Republicans have won control of the US Senate in mid-term elections, held on 4 November. Counting continues in some states. Results from the Associated Press are available here.

A total of 36 seats in the Senate were contested.
Senate elections took place in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma (both seats), Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina (both seats), South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming.
In addition, all 435 voting seats in the House of Representatives were up for election.
There were also gubernatorial elections in 36 states.
